a little more on HBM

Ok, I will try to write a little bit more about the congress.
Well, it first started with Marieke coming to visit me on friday, almost two weeks ago.. It was really nice to have friend over.. We hung around in Pisa and on saterday afternoon went to Florence, to meet the rest of the group. They were so nice to wait for us for dinner (although eventually there was no dinner anymore I think haha) in a bar near the Ponte Vecchio. We drank some mojito's, capimara's or whatever they were :). Unfortuantely I had to go back home, because I didn't have a place to stay yet (declining some nice offers..). I was really sad about that, but when I was home eventually at 01.15 I was happy to sleep. So the next day I did a new attempt, met up with some of the people and we took a nice tour up a hill to look out on Florence. We then watched the dutch soccermatch, which is really nice to do with a group of people in a cafe. In the evening the first happening of the congress started, so we went to enroll and to a lecture, and then (to the most important part ;)) the dinner! Hehe it was on a really nice location, the gardens of palazzo Pitti (if I remember well), lot's of drinks and food, but also long long lines.. Haha, luckily also some italian gentlemen, Marieke and I found out :) During the nice relaxed walk home (i still don't like the Dome :P) we found some musicians on the Ponte Vecchio and sat there to listen, really nice!
Ok I am talking too much to actually tell about everything :) About the congress: interesting talks, a lot of posters (I saw a lot about Brain Computer Interfaces, resting state research and classifiers, trying to learn a bit) and some nice social events. On monday was the italian game, which we didn't watch with "our" italians because they were too chicken (in case they would loose), so we watched it with A LOT of other italians outside on a big screen which was really nice.. Haha all that emotion is great. On tuesday was the Brainvoyager party, which was in a really fancy nice place, cool party, nice presents for Rainer&Claudia (the movies were hilarious!), but (the only thing I missed) no dancing! The music was good though. On wednesday the big HBM party, which was also quite nice, with bands and (kind of) salsa music. Only the drinks were 8 euros O_o! And I don't know, I felt a bit restless.. But I did got Giancarlo to dance (which is quite an accomplishment apparently) :D. Again a nice walk home (I really like walking quietly in the night) and the next morning an early rise! 8.00h the results of the HBM competition, which I found interesting to hear about. The rest of the day the rest of the group was kind of lost (I guess they were sleeping). Well, I'm going to cut it short here.. In the weekend (fri sat)there was the BV course, but all beginners stuff, so not very interesting.. But Marieke and I hung around a bit there, I also had to look at the data with Francesco and Federico (to conclude the things I already concluded before), my doc was there also.. On sunday Marieke and I went to Siena! Which was nice because I hadn't been there for a while, and Marieke never.. It's such a nice city, I really like just walking around there. When we got back we ran into Rainer and the rest (such a coincidence! I wanted to go left, to the fastest way home, but Marieke wanted to see the tower one more time, so we went straight!) and they asked if we wanted to join them for dinner.. Mjammjam we went to the same place Francesco took me and Ilaria&Lucia when I just arrived in Pisa, it was really delicious food (seafood, my favorite!).
So since monday I am here alone again, really tired from everything.. :)
